I am back and my wheels are turning!

Hello friends, I have been away and very busy learning. I started the academic year and been in the classroom learning. I can say that it has been a rough journey but very well worth it. Today I feel very excited to share that I have attended a very informative conference that got my wheels turning. I went to the Arizona English Teacher Association (AETA) and learned many new things that are helping me grow professionally. The most amazing thing about this conference is that I got to meet Ralph Fletcher a teacher and author of books that help us (teachers) teach writing. I was very excited to meet him and attend this conference with my teacher friends that.

The individual presentations were informative as well. In one of the sessions my friend I were thinking of ideas on how to use our learned knowledge and help our student master standards. I was able to see how I can incorporate student centered activities and focus on what my students want to learn. This will hold them accountable for their own learning especially when they have chosen topics that are interesting for them. I also saw another one that helps us have parents be more involved in their child’s learning. Overall, I am content and happy to know that I have learned something new today and will be able to incorporate it in my current classroom and in the future as well in my own classroom.
